In 2005, when my daughter Isabella was 12 and my son Kristjan was 14, we traveled through Hawaii, New York, France, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, England and ending it in Wales. This was taken in the courtyard of Powys castle late in the day and we were all freezing. We arrived too late in the year to even see inside and ended up walking around it, throwing snowballs at each other and watching the ducks. During our visit to Wales I wondered how different my children's lives would have been if the family had never left.
